Baltimore electronic new wave rock band Jumpcuts will release its second album, Fiber Optic Bondage. Following several national and regional tours, singer/multi-instrumentalist Andy Shankman tracked the album at Baltimore’s Mobtown Studios with producer Mat Leffler-Schulman (Future Islands, Dustin Wong). Combining rock bombast with atmospheric synths, danceable beats, and introspective songwriting, Fiber Optic Bondage builds on the Jumpcuts sound with 11 darkly entrancing songs.
Jumpcuts was founded by Shankman in 2008, and has undergone several incarnations in its short history, including solo shows, and a full band with string quartet accompaniment. Fiber Optic Bondage follows three years after the debut album Electrickery, which was produced by Rob Girardi (Beach House, Celebration). Jumpcuts will be supporting the album’s release with several runs through the east coast and Midwest in 2015.
